"a new filing in a lawsuit brought by families of 9/11 victims against Saudi Arabia alleges that al-Qaeda had significant, indeed decisive, state support for its attacks" https://t.co/1OPAtmvxZg pic.twitter.com/uEaA6PSYbn

Conventional wisdom is rarely wise and usually has an expiry date.
Such is the case with the attacks of September 11th: specifically, who plotted them, which nation states provided material help, and why. A new piece in The Atlantic (which you should read in full—gift link here, active until 10 June 2024) foreshadows a reckoning of that deadly day, and all signals are pointing directly to Saudi Arabia.
What a difference an Installation makes
Politicians often go back on promises they make on the campaign trail—that’s a given, like death and taxes. Sounding almost lucid and measured on Fixed Noise in lead-up to 2016 election, Trump asserted “we attacked the wrong country” after invading Iraq (subtext, presumably, was that we should’ve attacked Saudis instead) and that his “immigration” “policies” (reminder, he doesn’t read and has no core values) would’ve stopped 9/11 hijackers in their tracks.
Brett Eagleson was 15 years old when he his father Bruce died while working in the Twin Towers on 9/11. He’s a spokesperson for the victims families and founder of 911justice.org, a non-profit advocating for truth and accountability from that tragic day. In an exclusive phone interview, Brett told me he and 9/11 family members were hopeful after hearing what Trump claimed on Fox in the lead-up to 2016 election.
‘When this evidence comes out it’s going to tell a completely different story than what people are accustomed to regarding the Kingdom’s role in 9/11’—Brett Eagleson
“He went on live TV and said it was Saudi Arabia that knocked down those towers,” he says. “Trump said, ‘Someone should open those files’ and—I’m paraphrasing—he said ‘Bush’s War in Iraq was the worst foreign policy decision since Vietnam, because it wasn’t Iraq that knocked down those towers.'”
Eagleson went on to say the files Trump said “should be opened” would show Saudi Arabia was responsible.
“That’s why we were hopeful, because Trump knew.”
no.
it's a problem for PREVIOUS SAUDI-OWNED U.S. MOBSTERS who fondled orbs and ran MBS errands https://t.co/Cs1H9rSZjN

Given what we know today, Trump’s claim that his xenophobic, racist “immigration” “policy” would’ve stopped 9/11 is nonsense. Likewise, as Brett said, any anchorage Trump had in reality quickly evaporated: Like 8 minutes after he (corruptly, with a lot of assistance from transnational mob, including Saudis) got “in office” he discarded that early “hawkish” stance, broke tradition and—instead of visiting an ally on his first trip—very conspicuously traveled to KSA and fondled the orb and swung some swords in a very-not-gay dance with Saudi bigwigs.
“He, himself, accurately proclaimed it was Saudi Arabia,” Eagleson said. “But despite knowing that, and despite all of that, he went to Saudi Arabia on his first foreign trip, he met with the King, and completely fell for the whole song and dance, and they put on a dog and pony show for him.”
With “benefit” of his 4-year regime as hindsight, we know donald to be a needy, feckless, insecure narcissist who does more criming before 9 a.m. than any of us do in multiple lifetimes. He is desperate to stay out of prison; is promising to strangle democracy in the crib; and trading on his previous ill-gotten position to enrich himself, his clan and his corrupt pals. Despite what members of his authoritarian-personality cult say, his actions had no connection to the success or failure of America or her people.
‘President* Trump looked us all in the eye and said he’s going to help, and turned around and stabbed us in the back less than 24 hours after our meeting’—Brett Eagleson, 911Justice.org
Trump is basically on the take. It seems clear that he’s in the pocket of the Saudi Prince and of Vlad the Impaler at the same time. He’s adept at cheating on lots of people simultaneously, and now he’s cheating on 325 million of us at once.https://t.co/pIITVLN1ma

Human cost of mob enterprises
As Lawrence Tribe noted in 2018, American citizens were the last folks on the list of Trump’s priorities. He was, by all accounts, running a mob enterprise out of the white house*. Whether they knew it or not, Americans were victimized by his scattershot, chaotic, at times criminal actions (searching for dirt on Biden; COVID failure; constantly siding with our enemies; babies in cages), which caused lasting trauma that, according to psychologists, will endure for years to come.
But the families of 9/11 victims are a special breed of Americans who’ve experienced additional layers of trauma, but on repeat for decades now. With a lawsuit they filed in 2016 and slowly working its way through Southern District of New York (SDNY), a steady stream of new revelations has started to emerge. And that new evidence—after the landmark 9/11 Commission’s work has long concluded—will explode decades of “War on Terror” U.S. policy that caused us to invade the wrong country (Afghanistan, and later Iraq) and, as a result, conveniently took the spotlight off a country with numerous connections to the crime.
Of all the 19 hijackers, 15 of them were citizens of Saudi Arabia (Boston Herald)
Eagleson notes that the work of the 9/11 Commission did not have evidence uncovered by the families’ lawsuit against the Saudis—the content of which will permanently alter perceptions.
“All this information is going to tell a very different story about what the 9/11 Commission found,” he says. “Keep in mind that the Commission did not have the benefit of all this evidence. So this evidence that we’re talking about was produced and existed without the knowledge of the 9/11 Commission. So when this evidence comes out, it’s going to tell a completely different story than what people are accustomed to regarding the Kingdom’s role in 9/11.”
Even with a decades-long slog in the courts behind him, Eagleson remains optimistic that the truth will prevail. “I’ve never been more hopeful, and I’ve been doing this for 10 years,” he says. “I know that there’s new evidence coming that is very damning.” 🔵
Pardon my French but why the f*ck is William Barr working as Donald’s defense attorney?
This is Part 1 of a 3-part blog series, exclusively on CrankyYank, an online news magazine now 9 years old. Part 2 (publishing soon) will dive into Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA); President Obama’s veto; and Bill Barr‘s refusal to release 9/11 documents based on a false claim of “imperiling national security.” Part 3 (publishing after Part 2) will conclude the series with a look at PGA Tour’s helping Eagleson set up a 501c3—only to learn through media reports that PGA intended to merge with the Saudi golf entity, LIV.
9/11: The Day Manhattan, Humanity & Media Changed Forever [UPDATED]
Writer’s note about CrankyYank Style Guide: On this news magazine, any reference to president* Trump will have an asterisk because it is my policy to acknowledge he did not win the seat fairly (or at all) in 2016. Furthermore, any references to his “administration*” “inauguration*” and the like also carry asterisks—as will some of his key enablers, like AG* Bill Barr. If you have any information that can help me report this story further, please be in touch.
UPDATE: I inadvertently embedded the wrong Fixed Noise live spot. The relevant one is from 15 October 2015, now embedded above. But the one I embedded prior (seen just below this graf) also has some pretty incredible statements, including donald claiming America needed a “robust whistleblower” program.
