The DNC shrugged off the qualms of independents & progressives in 2016. Unfortunately, it appears they haven’t learned from their mistakes. pic.twitter.com/8cfzA3hHcc

I don’t subscribe to one specific religion because some of those “paths to god” are designed to oppress others. In the same way, it’s tough for me to self-identify as a full-on Democrat when there are so many progressives I’d like to slap across the face.
Tulsi Gabbard is one such person.
In the face of perhaps the greatest threat to our democracy in history—a stolen and hacked election, aided by American confederates—the always histrionic Tulsi comes out with this lovely nugget claiming the Democratic National Committee has “shrugged off the qualms of independents and progressives in 2016.”
our nation was attacked by a hostile foreign power but yeah lecture us on how horrible the DNC is. https://t.co/rqvedlx2DR

First of all and most importantly: fuck off. Second—like many in that mold of liberals who’d rather shake fists at the sky than band together to solve problems—this is patently untrue. Hillary Clinton presided over the most progressive DNC platform in history, and Bernie Sanders helped write it. Further, our election was compromised by a hostile foreign power, and until that matter is adjudicated Greenwaldian liberals need to sit down, STFU and stop making this argument.

We get it, you don’t like Hillary. Fine. But don’t make efforts to investigate, remove and indict Trump your enemy in the process.
Here’s the problem: it’s not just Tulsi making this painfully dumb assertion. Bernie Sanders, Susan Sarandon, Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibbi and others have said the same. “Well, liberals can’t pin their hopes for defeating Trump on the Russia scandal.” Maybe not, but it sure as shit should be in our quiver.
Why? Robert Mueller just returned indictments on three individuals when it pertains to the Trump-Russia scandal—one of them had already pled guilty. As I reported here on Monday, Manafort, Rick Gates and George Papadopoulos have all been implicated, with the latter pleading guilty and cooperating as a “proactive witness.”
#Papadopoulos “proactively cooperating” means whomever he met with is pants-pooping tonight. #maddow

If you think now is the right time to get shouty about how horrible dems are you’re either smoking the funny stuff or officially compromised in some way. Gabbard would rather be right about an idiot argument than be part of a Resistance Team trying to defeat Trump. But go ahead, keep lecturing from your ivory tower and see how far it gets you. 🔵
