confront @Mike_Pence & @KarenPence with microphones until you get an answer
to borrow their parlance: IVF is, in fact, pro-life.

As most of Earth 1 knows by now, “pro life” (piously claimed by death-penalty fans and operatives cheering as pregnant women get charged with “homicide”) is nonsense.
If past is prologue, the Alabama Supremes outlawing IVF is a dry run for a national ban from the same crowd who agitates for killing prisoners. (There’s always a dry run.) I watched the reaction, backlash and analysis and had to jump in on Twitter with a thread… which you can read here.
.@BidenHQ statement on IVF fully meets the moment

“Across the nation, MAGA repubs are inserting themselves in the most-personal decisions a family can make, from contraception to IVF” reads the statement from Biden-Harris campaign. “With their latest attack on reproductive freedom, these so-called ‘pro life” republicans are preventing loving couples from growing their families.”
They’re actually salivating to block ALL SORTS of people—single, partnered, engaged, whatever—from doing basic family planning.
Read that again: the “pro family” and “pro life” crowd wants to outlaw loving families.
Disgraced operative Tommy Tuberville got caught in that very same, absurd Hall of Mirrors just yesterday:
here's @TTuberville having no freakin' clue what IVF even does

Sure, this post is a defense of IVF and reproductive justice. But it’s also a warning to media NOT to cover this story as part of the “culture war” or default into “why are both sides so polarized?” Center the human aspect, always, and interview the Americans (past, present and future) who want to see science and magic dance together in perfect rhythm.
I expect my phone to ring or email to buzz shortly. ❇️
so journalists, assignment editors, publishers: FIND AMERICANS AFFECTED BY ALABAMA ABOMINATION and interview them
DON'T f**king go to Idaho diners. don't do "some say, others say" pieces. don't watch rain clouds roll in and get opinions on weather. @MelissaJPeltier @UROCKlive1 pic.twitter.com/AaEmm6wlPK

As for-profit media continues to fail us, it’s more important than ever to find reliable sources. Authentic storytelling exists—you just have to look for it. On this blog you’ll get ideas, not ideology. Sass with class. Reporting with rapport. Evidence with a touch of evil. You get the idea.
