Turns out standing up for rule of law has pitfalls and advantages.
As impeachment plays out this week, we’re reminded that testifying against Trump’s mafia-cult can be a horrifying experience. Ukraine Whistleblower’s lawyers are getting death threats; witnesses Fiona Hill and Marie Yovanovitch are also getting death threats; and U.S. Army is prepared to move witness Alexander Vindman to a secure location if they determine his life is in danger.
MAGA nutbags can be a violent bunch, sure, but it’s important to remember that Americans are cheering the right people at the right time.

Quite unusual to have hearing audiences at the Capitol applaud for witnesses, which is why I filed this to “Cure Your Crankies.” In this dark and uncertain time, we needed a reminder that Americans are cheering all the right people—for all the right reasons.
