Turns out standing up for rule of law has pitfalls and advantages.
As impeachment plays out this week, we’re reminded that testifying against Trump’s mafia-cult can be a horrifying experience. Ukraine Whistleblower’s lawyers are getting death threats; witnesses Fiona Hill and Marie Yovanovitch are also getting death threats; and U.S. Army is prepared to move witness Alexander Vindman to a secure location if they determine his life is in danger.
MAGA nutbags can be a violent bunch, sure, but it’s important to remember that Americans are cheering the right people at the right time.
Here, right matters—Alexander Vindman
After concluding her testimony, Marie Yovanovitch received a standing ovation from the gallery audience
Yovanovitch also received spontaneous standing-O at a Washington, D.C. jazz club
‘Here, right matters’—Vindman’s simple line received applause
“I’ll be fine for telling the truth”

Quite unusual to have hearing audiences at the Capitol applaud for witnesses, which is why I filed this to “Cure Your Crankies.” In this dark and uncertain time, we needed a reminder that Americans are cheering all the right people—for all the right reasons.
UPDATE: I’ll be adding quite a few more clips of spontaneous applause as I get them; here we have Rep. Jackie Speier taking it to a MAGA yutz in fine fashion

UPDATE 2: “Getting caught is no defense” = Adam Schiff’s finest hour. they will teach his impeachment leadership in history classes 50 years from now
Rep. Adam Schiff adjourns hearing to applause: "Getting caught is no defense—not to a violation of the Constitution, or to a violation of his oath of office. And it certainly doesn't give us reason to ignore our own oath of office. We are adjourned." https://t.co/ZNDOvTVgu3 pic.twitter.com/dFzOreSw4p

As for-profit media continues to fail us, it’s more important than ever to find reliable sources. Authentic storytelling exists—you just have to look for it. On this blog you’ll get ideas, not ideology. Sass with class. Reporting with rapport. Evidence with a touch of evil. You get the idea.
